EXPERTS IN SOURCING QUALITY STONE —

  • SLATE / GRANITE / LIMESTONE / SANDSTONE

Natural stone walling exudes timeless elegance and rustic charm, adding character to any space. Crafted by our skilled quarrymen, each stone has unique textures and hues, creating a captivating visual tapestry. Natural stone walling offers warmth and authenticity in any built environment.

  • GRANITE / SANDSTONE / SLATE / SETTS / LIMESTONE / PORCELAIN / PORPHYRY / BASALT

Stone under foot, whether as paving slabs or cobble setts, epitomises durability and sophistication, transforming outdoor spaces with enduring beauty. Crafted from natural stone, each stone exudes its own unique character and texture, creating a timeless landscape. Whether used for pathways, patios, driveways or larger landscaping projects, stone paving enhances the ambiance of any setting, blending seamlessly with nature's palette.

  • GRANITE

The beauty of any project is in the finishing details. Authentic stone quoins and lintels are the detail layered onto a wall that completes the vision. Whether finished the same as a wall or providing bold contrast, these stones stand out against concrete or reconstituted alternatives. Available in full thickness or as purely decorative facades, these elements need just as much consideration as any infill material.

  • SLATE / GRANITE

A fixture of most Cornish farmland entrances, Gate Posts provide structural support and visual accents to entrances and pathways. Crafted from durable granite, they add charm to functionality. We can offer posts in a range of colours and finishes, as well as with custom tops either functional or decorative. We can also drill any required holes, although this is often best done when the posts are in situ.

We can offer steps in a range of materials, and as either full thickness steps or as thinner treads and risers to cover existing steps. While we keep a standard selection of our beautiful granite steps in stock, we’re happy to provide custom measurements to suit the needs of our clients. In addition to structured steps hewn from blocks, we can offer sawn boulders left unfinished, to give a truly rustic look, as if these steps formed naturally in place.

  • SLATE / GRANITE / LIMESTONE / SANDSTONE

For thousands of years humans have placed stones with purpose. Since at least the bronze age Cairns and Menhir stones have dotted the landscapes of Britain. We invite you to leave your mark with our range of slate and granite monoliths and boulders.

These stones command attention with their imposing presence, adding a sense of grandeur to outdoor and indoor spaces. Their rugged beauty and natural textures create focal points that enhance any landscape. We offer a range of finishes, from natural weathered textures, to drilled quarry markings, to stark sawn edges.

Boulders also offer a functional purpose. We’re happy to assist where these are needed for simple landscaping or to block entrances.

  • SLATE / GRANITE / LIMESTONE / SANDSTONE

Cills, hearths and copings serve as functional and aesthetic elements in interior and exterior design. Crafted for durability, they provide both support and visual appeal, enhancing the ambience of any space. Available in both traditional riven finishes as well as highly decorative bullnoses and irregular shapes.

We’re happy to work to templates or CAD designs to meet your design needs.

  • At Caradon Stone we specialise in bespoke projects. From a single granite slab to an imposing statue pedestal, we are confident in saying we can make it in our stone.

At our Lantoom Quarry site we have a workshop area where our stone masonry team crafts your designs. We also have our own cutting-edge wire saw on site to cut blocks to high accuracy.

We work with our partners elsewhere in the UK and abroad to also offer bespoke products in alternative stones, where Cornish granite isn’t desired.

  • GRANITE

We recognise that traditional walling won’t fit every use case. Modern builds have more and more stringent design requirements, making thinner facades of stone desirable. At the same time, being able to supply our premium Cornish granite in a tile format opens up its use as a luxury tile option in interior settings.

We’ve supplied stone as thin as 10mm thick for projects including interior tiling, decorative house cladding, and mechanically fixed rainscreen applications.

  • SLATE / GRANITE

Although we specialise in walling stones and bespoke masonry, we do supply a small range of aggregate stones, which are especially popular for fill applications and decorative uses in gabion baskets.

  • GRANITE

Flooding can be devastating to the natural environment and infrastructure. Keeping floodwater at bay has become more pertinent with the challenge of extreme weather and climate change.

Caradon Stone can supply standard materials including Rip Rap, Rock Armour and all manner of sea defence boulders.

Our Cornish granite was most recently used extensively at the Exeter Flood Defence Scheme

  • SLATE / GRANITE

Natural stone is more than its function, it is timeless and beautiful.

We work with local artists to design and produce bespoke pieces, such as granite street furniture and sculptures. Our stone has been exhibited in museums and sculpture gardens, and we occasionally sponsor local exhibits to raise awareness of natural stone and its importance in our built environment.

Additionally, we offer hand engraving services for our products, for example for farm entrances, housing estate signs or for commemorative and memorial purposes.

  • While our stones may be millions of years old, our business is merely decades in the making. The company behind Caradon Stone was formed in 2020, but its history traces back to 1964.

The Lantoom Quarry Company was formed as a family partnership in 1964. In 2002 it incorporated as Lantoom Ltd, before the quarry assets were transferred to a new limited company, Caradon Ltd, in 2023 as part of the business’ succession plan.

The company is still independently owned and has been operated by different members of the Crocker family since the 1960s. Although not a Crocker family member, fellow director Will Hugh’s great grandfather Stafford Tucker owned and managed Roseland Quarry, near Menheniot village, in partnership with the Crocker family.
